About the exhibition

Join us in commemorating the 10-year anniversary of the Public History Center and the 8th anniversary of the museum studies program at Christopher Newport University. Founded in 2014 and 2016 respectively, these programs have been pivotal in exposing students to historical and archaeological internships and hands-on public history experience in the Hampton Roads region and beyond. This exhibition highlights the remarkable journeys of students who have embarked in internships in public history and archaeology, showcasing their contributions to uncovering and preserving the rich legacy of our local heritage. Through a dynamic display of artifacts, research projects, and personal narratives, we invite you to explore how these dedicated students have played a vital role in bringing the past to life and ensuring its legacy for future generations.
