ArtCNU Senior Thesis Exhibition 2024
- William M. Grace Community Gallery
About the exhibition
This exhibition is the culmination of a two-year capstone program for studio art majors at Christopher Newport University. Students have an open forum to explore their own independent artistic concepts and modes of expression. Working closely with faculty members on their individual creative bodies of work, students are expected to convey their artistic ideas both visually and verbally with passion and academic rigor.
Each student is evaluated on the strength of their artistic concept, the technical skill that they employ in their work, and their engagement with the artistic process over their capstone. To be invited to exhibit their work, each student meet distinct criteria and pass several reviews by ArtCNU faculty.
Sixteen artists were selected for this year’s exhibition. They are Emily Adams (Printmaking); Elena Amundson (Digital Media); Emily Atkins (Fiber); Hannah Brinckley (Photography); Henry Engelmeyer (Film); Brooke Fujiwara (Mixed Media Installation); Kamryn Fyock (Photography); Sarah Kerr-Applewhite (Printmaking); Eren Krasznay (Digital Illustration); Kailin Little (Fiber); Kiersten Lovett (Drawing); Meo Peltier (Digital Media); Lauren Tudahl (Mixed Media Digital Illustration); Carmela Wark (Printmaking); Madeline Renaux (Oil Painting); Anastasia Whitley (Mixed Media Drawing and Sculpture).
