Studio Lemercier: Paysages Possibles
- Anne Noland Edwards Gallery
About the exhibition
Paysages Possibles features a central table in the exhibition space, where a machine equipped with a pen creates intricate drawings under the control of a compact computer and algorithm. The pen swiftly traces numerous lines on the paper, gradually revealing recognizable forms and reliefs, such as detailed portions of rocks or mountains. As the drawings accumulate, they are displayed on the wall, with a new piece added daily. This evolving collection of paper and lines reflects Lemercier’s exploration of plotter machines, delving into the relationship between humans and machines, and between humans and art in an age of digital production.
Studio Lemercier: Paysages Possibles is organized by the Mary M. Torggler Fine Arts Center in collaboration with Superblue.
