About the Exhibition
The ArtCNU Senior Thesis Exhibition showcases the work of graduating studio art majors from the Class of 2026, marking the culmination of a year-long capstone experience that is the centerpiece of the studio art curriculum at Christopher Newport. Beginning with portfolio development in the summer and continuing through intensive studio work and critique, each student has developed an original body of work that reflects deep personal inquiry, technical skill, and creative growth. Guided by Professors Kristin Skees and Ryan Lytle, students in the Senior Seminar in Studio Art explore independent concepts and modes of expression, working closely with faculty mentors to refine their ideas and articulate their vision. Each artist featured in this exhibition has undergone a rigorous review process and met high standards of excellence in both their creative practice and presentation.
